First dating app to connect with Cubans!
Cubacitas Product Designer 2020
Context
Cubacitas’ target was to create the first opportunity for Cuban people to connect around the world and inside their own country, giving them options to expand their culture, find people with the same preferences, and the most important, create relationships that can transcend their lives.
As a product designer on the Cubacitas team, I led the complete UX/UI creation process, Over the course of 4 months, I worked alongside a Product owner, development and marketing team.
Results
100.000 Users registered without the ability to download from google play and the app store in the first 10 months of launching. Only using the APK file from the website and their own Cuban “App Store”
The first app in Cuba to bring together different enterprises within a single one, increasing the revenues of more than 4 companies in different areas such as transportation, hotels and tourism, restaurants…
The Challenge
Understanding cultures, and how they interact and create relationships is never an easy task, creating an app that simplifies all these statements inside a culture that isn’t used to digital products and services and their internet connectivity is still very poor.
